The SLOC3 provides regional cybersecurity awareness, training, and career pathways for California's Central Coast residents.

The SLOC3 is a collaborative consortium focused on providing regional cybersecurity awareness, training, and career pathways for California’s Central Coast residents. The consortium seeks to support awareness and educational programs that align with potential Good Jobs using cybersecurity skills.

SLOC3 involves partners with experience building and growing multistakeholder partnerships with a regional focus, bringing together individual knowledge and skills to help San Luis Obispo County residents understand and improve their personal cybersecurity hygiene, while also helping to build a robust regional cyber workforce.

Consortium Goals

Develop a diverse and inclusive cybersecurity awareness program centered on personal cyber safety and cybersecurity concepts;

  • Leveraging technology to engage and train multi-lingual users about cybersecurity;
  • Engage students and community members in addressing cyber awareness for local Senior populations;
  • Develop a wide range of workforce development opportunities to build the talent pipeline and expand access to quality, quality jobs in cybersecurity such as:
    • Provide information and support for K-12 cyber education;
    • Develop internship pipelines focused on developing a diverse pool of talent;
    • Identify, build on, and develop workforce training, programs, and initiatives that provide career pathways in cybersecurity.
