California Cybersecurity Institute
The California Cybersecurity Institute (CCI) at California Polytechnic State University is now integrated into the Noyce School of Applied Computing, aligning its mission with this interdisciplinary hub for computing education and innovation. As part of the Noyce School, which brings together electrical engineering, computer science, and computer engineering to advance applied computing and Cal Poly’s signature “Learn by Doing” pedagogy, CCI continues to lead state and national efforts to address pressing cybersecurity challenges through workforce development, applied research, and community engagement. The Institute focuses on three core pillars—training to reskill and upskill individuals across California and beyond, accelerating hands-on opportunities for students and faculty, and empowering early cyber education to build future talent pipelines—while fostering partnerships with industry and government and developing programs like game-based learning initiatives and workforce preparation tracks such as Cleared for Success.
